Shipping policy

1. Where we deliver

We deliver to addresses in England, Scotland and Wales. We do not currently deliver to Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man or outside the UK. Deliveries to some Scottish Highlands and Islands postcodes can take 1–2 business days longer.

2. Delivery options and charges

Business days are Monday to Friday, excluding UK bank holidays. The delivery charge for your order is shown before you pay.

3. When we dispatch

Books in stock are dispatched within 1–2 business days and sent by Royal Mail. You will receive a Royal Mail tracking reference and link when your order is dispatched.

Books we order in from the publisher take longer, and we will email you an estimated date. Pre-orders are sent to arrive on or close to publication day.

Some orders are sent directly from our wholesaler’s warehouse rather than from Stokesley, so the parcel may carry a different return address. It will include a Proudly Bookish delivery note.

If we cannot deliver within 30 days of your order being confirmed, and we have not agreed a later date with you, you can cancel for a full refund.

4. Late, lost or damaged parcels

We are responsible for your order until it reaches you, so you never need to claim from Royal Mail yourself. If your order hasn’t arrived within 10 business days of dispatch, or arrives damaged, email us with your order number (and a photo if it’s damaged). We will send a replacement or refund you in full. Our Refund Policy explains your rights.

5. Click & collect

Choose click & collect at checkout and we will email you when your order is ready to collect from our stall at Stokesley’s Friday market. Bring your order number; someone else can collect for you if they have it. We hold orders for 21 days.
